Privacy Policy

This page explains what GuruAnime collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

What we collect

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people use. It sets cookies in your browser and records a shortened form of your IP address, the pages you open, and general information such as country, browser and device type. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Comments. If you leave a comment, we store the name and email address you type, the comment itself, and your IP address. The email address is never shown publicly and is used only to recognise repeat commenters and to reduce spam.

Server logs. Our web server records requests with IP address, time and page, as every web server does. These logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data. We do not run advertising networks that profile you across other sites. We do not require an account to watch anything.

Third parties

Images are loaded from the TMDB and AniList content networks, and video is served from our own streaming node. These services receive your IP address because your browser connects to them directly, which is how the web works for any embedded media.

Our Telegram, WhatsApp and Discord

GuruAnime runs a Telegram group, a WhatsApp channel and a Discord server, each with its own bot. The bots only work inside our own group, channel and server, and never read private messages.

Requests. When you post a request in the requests topic or channel, we store your user ID, your username, the message ID, the text and link you sent, and the time. We use them to reply to you, to tell you when the anime is on the site, and to apply the request limits. Request records are kept for as long as they are useful for that and for spotting abuse.

Spam protection. The bots check messages posted in our group and server for spam and scams, including text inside posted images. A message that is not spam is not stored. When a message is flagged, we keep it, the image, the author’s user ID and the reason, so moderators can review the decision.

New members. When you join, we store your user ID and the time, so that the welcome message and the anti-spam check work. We do not use any of this data for advertising and we do not share it.

You can ask us to delete your request records or any other data the bots hold about you through the contact page.

Your rights

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. Write to us through the contact page and we will answer.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site works without them; only the analytics counting stops.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date below changes with it.
